Jewish Synagogue – Kaladi ( Birth place of Adi Sankaracharya) – Athirappaly waterfalls
Embarking on an ethnic pilgrimage can be a deeply enriching experience, immersing you in the cultural and religious traditions of a particular region. Here’s a suggested itinerary for a four-day, three-night ethnic pilgrimage:
On arrival at Cochin airport / Railway station, you will be met by our representative and will transfer you to Hotel. We proceed for a half day sightseeing of Cochin. Overnight stay at Hotel.
After Breakfast we proceed to Fort Cochin, Visit: The Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Jews Street, St. Francis church, Chinese fishing net & the indo-Portuguese Museum. Proceed to Cherai Beach .
Later transfer you back to Hotel.
After breakfast proceed to Athirapilly and vazhachal Waterfalls, on way to Athirapilly we will get down at kalady ,The birthplace of Adi Sankaracharya, the great Advaita philosopher of the 8’h century. Kaladi houses temples dedicated to Sree Sankara, Sarada Devi, Sri Krishna and Sri Ramakrishna. On the banks of River Periyar in Kaladi is the sacred bathing ghat where Sankaracharya is said to have been caught by a crocodile and which according to legends refused to release him until Sankara’s mother Aryamba permitted him to accept Sanyas” (renunciation). Then proceed to Athirapilly water falls. Overnight Stay at cochin hotel.
Checkout from hotel after breakfast, Do a short sight seeing of Cochin depending on your departure rail / flight timings.
